A little blurb from our indiegogo page for more info:
Thanks in advance,Kidify aims at providing an educational and fun operating system for your child through our operating system KidUbuntu. KidUbuntu is a free open source operating system built from Kubuntu Linux. KidUbuntu seeks to encourage your child to easily engage with their computer. It makes using the computer entertaining and exciting, while also making it simple to control and navigate. It provides an organizational structure for children to steer through their applications and games with ease. It also has basic writing tools so students can work on essays or presentations. Instead of Windows laborious start and all programs menu button, each button in the KidUbuntu's menu is associated with an icon for visual learners or illiterate kids, and each program is organized into a category. KidUbuntu is jammed packed with educational games that interest students in various ways.
KidUbuntu provides a range of packages and support for several systems including: PCs, Laptops, and Netbooks. It can also be installed alongside your current system using our dual-boot feature.
KidUbuntu aims to provide a unique desktop enriched environment for your child. Unlike the Windows Operating System, it does not have any spyware or adware for your child to accidentally download onto the computer. KidUbuntu is highly secure, so you will not have to worry about constant crashes.
As part of the Kidify package, we will also be creating an alternative to BlackBoard Educational Technology. Our alternative, otherwise known as OpenBoard will provide all the same functionality and eventually be released to the public as an opensource project. We are working on building a portable solution where any institution can host their own application, or register online to run their own OpenBoard application on our servers. OpenBoard will be well secured, using the latest web2spy security technology, rendering common hacks useless against our versatile systems.
