Good evening everybody. This is my first post. I would like to ask anyone if does
Personalized Profile in Windows XP affect the other personalized user profile?
Example, i input keylogger to my Personalized profile. Then i logout and then the other one logged to his own personalized profile. Would the keylogger works with his personalized profile as well or not? Does personalized profile act like "Deep Freeze"?
Thank you for those who would answer my question.
Windows XP // Personalized Profile Question
Re: Windows XP // Personalized Profile Question
Depends how the keylogger is added.
If the keylogger is added so that the system runs it (For example it's placed as C:/file.exe and then there's a registry key in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE under the "run" section), then it wouldn't matter what user logs in, as the file would run anyway.
But if the registry key is placed in HKEY_CURRENT_USER, then it would only by run for the current user, as that is the user space.
Generally when it comes to write permissions, an admin can write to all the user profiles, while a normal user can only access his/her own home folder, and no other users folders.
