after an annoying odyssey of 1 week (for about 150 km) my HP ProLiant 380 arrived today, got is used for just 70 €!
the delivery guy looked a bit annoyed because of the package weight...
will start tweaking it now, because the noise level is pretty much "SAY WHAT???"...
ahhh...this will be fun...
YAY! finally my 19 inch box arrived!

yep, going for Squeeze.
right now I am trying to update all firmware and the BIOS, found a special CD image for that...with a little luck it adds a basic fan speed control like the G5 model has (mine is a G4).
next on the list: enabling iLo.

- 2x3.6 GHz dualcore Xeon CPUs
- 5.8 GB ECC RAM
- 2x 74 GB SCSI 320 HDDs with 15,000 rpm
the guy that sold it had only one, and international shipping would be killer anyway because of the oil tanker-like weight...
if I don't get the fan setting option in BIOS once I have done the updates I will simply solder resistors into the fan power cables and get them from 12 V down to 5 V.
