a web-based client which enable users to enter the channel through the site would be nice, but on the other side the feature could be easier abused than connecting through a "real" client imo...hmmm....

I'm not so sure, bad_brain. I'd have a form that has the person put in their nick name and password for them to log in, then have them hit connect. Then it takes them to a screen which there's a chat box and a window which displays the chat room. And (maybe) a side bar that shows the nicks of the people in the room. It'll automatically join #suck-o, of course.

Man, it's gonna be fun making a web-based IRC chat client.... heheh

Ok how about it, we can create a chat client, similar to irc but not irc, like in java, and also we can create a server part as well, so that all the suck-o clients can connect to a server, and then the login credentials would be same as this site, maybe server can be connected to database, i think thats cool, dont know if anyone of you like that idea or not

pseudo_opcode, the server runs on my computer, not on the suck-o website. Also, the server doesn't have the ability to read from a MySQL database, so someone would have to make a script to read from the mysql database and register all 10,000 some nicknames....

*yawn* ... Well, after hours and hours (and hours) of tedious work, i finally came up with an IRC client suitable enough to call 'BETA'. Which is a relief, because i worked on this for seriously 5 hours non stop. Anyway, the only bug is that sometimes the client won't send anything until someone else types, so only a few lines of typing, usually. Then someone in irc has to say something. Then you can type a few more lines, etc. Anyway, if you want to, try it out here: http://beta:tester@fatalh.sytes.net/tes ... /index.php

You HAVE to have a user name on irc to try this, so make sure to sign up.

To register a nick name in IRC, go on irc, type '/nick [your nick name]' without quotes or brackets, then type '/msg nickserv register [nick you want to register] [password] [email]' without quotes or brackets. Then you log in using that nick and password.

Anyway, i'm off to go do something, like watch porn, or sleep, or... something...
