today I had enough of it, and I figured out how to get rid of the taskbar icons, the solution kinda shows how silly Win7 (same for Win8 I guess) is coded sometimes.
there you go: simply run the apps in XP (or Vista) compatibility mode. duh.

Win7 "trick" to get rid of apps in taskbar
I have to run a lot of different messengers at the same time to keep in touch with friends and be available for customers, and what really annoyed me was the fact that in Win7 some apps simply refuse to minimize into a tray icon only....Skype and ICQ for example always minimized into tray icon AND taskbar icon...which is plain stupid.
