the swapping isn't because of a badly configured service btw, it's caused by the database backup script I am using...I rather do it hard and fast and cause some swapping than nice'ing the process and causing the tables to be locked for a longer time.
it's not the suck-o server, than one has just 276 days of uptime...

yeah....since when is a reason needed?
but IF you need one: rebooting after such a long uptime is always pretty exciting and in the time until it goes down and you finally get a login prompt via SSH again you feel the adrenaline level rising....so cheers for the successful reboot!
