is 465 the port?

I could be wrong, but I think xyz.com uses smtp port 587.

465 is their ssl port. 587 is non-ssl. I can never connect to them without ssl. I'll try it though. I wish I could figure out how to pipe John into hydra. I like hydra much more than madusa. Hydra even has a gui but it needs a text file for passwords. I think with cli I might be able to pass the passwords to it.

Is there a command line switch to invoke SSL with medusa, or is it automatic? If the standard (non-ssl) port doesn't work for you maybe look to see if there is parameter for SSL.

*shrugs

Its not a good idea to discuss specific websites/providers anyone may be trying unauthorised activities on.
We should keep our discussions "generic" and strictly hypothetical.

Good point - I had only seen it as a troubleshooting problem.

Thank you this is appreciated.
