k, what you mean with "hopping from system to system" is called proxy chaining. FreeCap for example is an application which can be used for this:

but well, no matter how long your proxy chain is, you can never be sure ....... like in the movies....imo the best way for anonymity is an internet cafe, a fake beard and dark sunglasses...

erm guys..heres an idea. Go to an internet cafe, give a fictious name, log on and hack from the terminal. Sure they can trace the IP address to the cafe but does that matter? The number of people who use the machines is rather high. I think of tracing someone like hunting with dogs, sure the hounds can get the scent but, due to a number of conditions, weather, wind, animals, people etc, the chain is broken or, so badly obscured so as to cause confusion.
