Windows crashed

Post by isapiens »

I am so glad i dualed boot my laptop. My windows crashed, but i still got linux ubuntu, so i can post on the forums yeye!

Here is the scoop of what happened. I did not install anything new on my computer, it just started to give me the blue screen out of nowhere. It did it like 3 times when i started to worry. So i made a backup on my external drive. Then i tried it to run spybot but it said that i have chcsm (or smth like that) problem so i should check my disc. So i ran the disc check utility, it runs at the begining when you boot up but it never makes it till the end, the screen just turns black

I tried to repair the windows by sticking in the cd, but that was not successfull either.

What should i do now? I am not quit sure what to do with the back up that i have. I am using norton ghost, and last time i used it i just copied the folders that i needed back after reinstulling windows. But u cant do that with Program Files, so what would be the proper way of restoring the system.

sorry for the long post, pz

ok, have you created a Ghost boot floppy? if not do so...if not possible I can upload a floppy image. you need to boot from floppy then, chose the .GHO/.ghs image files and the backup will be restored (these files have to be located outside of the partition you want to restore of course).

k, I had to create a bootable CD image of the floppy image first, you can get it here.
