Hey just wodering what are some (prefferably [sp?] freeware)progs. that are good for making .gifs......

and some others for making banners and wallpapers...

For Banners/Wallpapers -->Gimp

You won't find much that you can (legally) get for free...but they're out there. Someone else may know of some more programs.

right, I don't think you'll find some better freeware than gimp.
if you mean animated gifs get gif construction set professional here:

Photoshop is the best...

the best is photoshop Cs 8.0... far all graphic gif etctc

fot the some 3d images is very cool 3d Studio max... but all this program don't r free or shareware...
