Voodoo is NOT black magic and spells cast by savages. In fact much like hacking there is good voodoo and bad voodoo. Good voodoo is cast before midnight and is used to protect and ward off evil. Sacrifices to the gods also known as "loa" are used to do this. Catholicism is a major influence of voodoo, in order to disguise their religion, Haitians adopted and emulated the French invaders images, so Mary the Virgin became the goddess of love, St. Patrick became the snake god and so on.

There is evil voodoo.... though it may work, it does mean that the malice is repaid thrice, so beware! Usually the Boukor (evil priest) will not ask for money but ask you to render some service such as kidnap or murder as payment.

I have a much more interesting religion I found one day. If I can dig up the old floppy I saved the files too I'll show you.

And you are right. Most things in the world-at least in the USA- stereotyped.

Just don't catorigize people and/or cultures.

Voodoo is just like witchcraft.

It's all about intent.

And it's intent that matters in hacking ethics, etc.
So I can see how you're connecting it.

hmm i have a feeling this may start something

but i myself am a Christain and just that

i find religion to be a very bad thing just because everyone just gets so wrapped up in it and it takes attention off of what really matters

anyways hope i didnt step on anyones toes

and yeah i see how you would link the two together also
