i have a digital camera which im going to trow away soon
so i was wondering if anyone knows what i can do to make it cooler
or how to change the software on it
or something like that anything related to modin or doing with this camera

but i need the camera in one piece so no hardcore mods pls

my camera is a Kodak CX7300

and im not happy with it takes only 30 seconds of vid
but the pictures are really good and its a great camera

i waz wondering since it plays records .mov files and views them why dosent it play my .mov files which i put on a SD card and try to view....

I would say hell yeah and go for a mod before tossing it away. Do you have a soldering iron, and or some solder wick? If so take it carefully apart and look for awhile at the chips inside the thing. Then you can Google the data sheets for each chip noticing what they are there for. After you find out what chip can be programmed and or modified use your imagination. Some times you will see a crystal perhaps putting in a faster crystal or looking at the data sheet you’ll notice that it can accept a different supporting piece of hardware that may improve / tweak the operation of the camera.

Realistically what do you want to do with it? I made a program in visual basic that senses motion on my web cam/digital cam. Perhaps you can just use it as a guard dog for your home/room. When it sees motions have it sound an alarm or something. If you’re into robotics there are going to be many parts that can be useful on that camera. Perhaps a distance sensor like the Panasonic may be inside used for auto focus.

well i wanna try and make it record more than 30 sec.

but i have no idea which one is the chip...

i know how to solder and some hardware stuff but thats it

so how do i find which numbers to look for...i looked alot and didnt find

anything on most of them on google

this stuff is harder than i thought...

why did they put that lame 30 seconds....just to piss you off...
i have a 128mb SD and it would be cool if i can record more than 30secs...
