scan your box with nmap - online

Post by bad_brain »

got this link through the newsgroup I'm in, it's nice for a quick selfcheck (and also works for other IPs), it's also the only way to do nmap scans when on dial-up:

http://nmap-online.com/
you don't have to register, just wait a little until the scan is done, the result will be displayed then:
enjoy....

nmap is the most advanced network scanner, it has a lot of options, check here:
http://insecure.org/nmap/

it might not be the best choice for a beginner, but well, it forces you to learn something about networking...so give it a try if you want to...

I think it'd be interesting to compile a bunch of shell based programs that do network things, then compile them into a PHP script or PERL script, and output all the information about an inputted domain or IP...
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ It works on my machine...
