Post by Swan »

Guys I recently installed a prgoram called "clear all history." i deleted earleir this evening, and turned my machine off. When i turned it back a few hours later, I got a black DOS window says:

windows32.exe Internet history could not be found_

on the DOs prompt and I noticed my machine is running really slowly!

i have done something bad to the machine?

uh-oh... 8O windows32.exe is a sign for a worm infection:

maybe the program you installed was infected, usually it's a well known program but if you got it from an unreliable source it could have been corrupted. do a full system scan with your antivirus app now!

If you can, start in safe mode (pres F8 when you turn your machine on, repeatedly, thill the menue comes up), run your AV and/or AS there. (If you have any, if not, do you have access to another computer?Doenload a PORTABLE version to a CD or something, do a google, I can't post a link here because I dont believe there are any legal ones   )

Restart.

If you still have the problem, go back to safe mode and do a System Restore (im guessing your on XP). Restore your computer to an earlier date.

Next time, Id use CCleaner .. its the best free thing like that IMO
