hm, is the site on webspace or do you have root access? would be much more effective to secure the site on server-level...but well, I'm sure you'll find a good script on the link neo posted if you don't have root permission.

there seem to be one named "floodgate", but I couldn't retrieve it.....all links are dead, so maybe it wasn't working anyway....
