How To Use Torrents

What torrents are: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BitTorrent
A lot of people think that it is very hard to use torrents, it really is a simple process.
I will guide you through on how to use torrents.

1. First you need a torrent client. I recommend utorrent: http://utorrent.com/
Download and install that.

2. Once you have utorrent installed run it.
- It should look like this:

Image

*Image gotten from utorrent.com

3. Now with this you can download torrents. I recommend getting torrents from: http://torrentz.com/ or http://torrentpond.com/ (torrent pond searches all torrent sites for what you are looking for)

4. Once you have downloaded your torrent double click it and it should come up in utorrent (make sure you set it as your default program for torrents).
The torrent should be downloading now. This could take a while depending on seeders.
- Seeders are people who upload the torrents. You will see on most of the sites "Seeders: ** Leachers: **". Once you are finished with the torrent it will auto seed.
- Leachers are people who are downloading the torrent.

5. Once the torrent has been installed look in the folder you downloaded it in (default is ...\My Documents\Downloads). Now just follow the uploaders instructions!

Other:
- It is nice to seed. So after you download...SEED and be nice
- Remember to choose the ones with the most seeders!

How To Used A Proxy in Firefox

First we will need some way to get a proxy:

1) We can use a program.

2) We can get them off of a site.

In this tut i will be using a program called "proxy finder"

Download:http://rapidshare.com/files/20719361/Pr ... er_1.1.rar

Open the file and follow the instructions

Then once installed open it up and click the find button

Image

now we will get a nice big list now some of these dont work so we need to test them

Today I will be using www.checker.freeproxy.ru/checker/

now copy the proxys from "proxy finder" into the box and click test

then in a few seconds we should get a screen that looks like this

Image

once we get this you gotta look through them and find one that says "Working"

now copy that ip and the port

now i will be using firefox to install my proxy

Ok so open up FF and hit alt t then hit CTRL o

then you should get a window that looks like this

Image

now go to the advanced tab

and after that hit alt e

now you should get a new screen that looks likes like this:Image

now hit alt m then you should get a new screen that is simlair to this

(without the HTTP proxy thing filled out)

now copy that proxy we found eailer into the box that says 'HTTp proxy" now copy all the number up intill teh colon then were it says port and type in the last 2-4 number

it should look simair to this Image

now hit ok and refresh the page and now you SHOULD be behind a proxy

now to test it

go to ipchicken.com

and the blue numbers should match the numbers your typed in the 'HTTP proxy" box

How To Ping

How to ping (A simple ping):
Pinging doesn't take that long to learn. All you have to do is memorize a simple command.
For the definition of pinging look here: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=ping

Ok here are the steps to do a simple ping:

1. Go to "Start" "Run" Type in "CMD".
- A screen like this should pop up:Image

2. Now just type in "ping (Target)" Than enter
- Example "ping google.com"
- The screen should look like this after you press enter:
Image

3. You have now successfully pinged a site

There is much more you can do with pinging. This is only basic pinging.
Useful info can come up such as the sites IP which could be very helpful for different purposes.
I might be writing another article on more advanced pinging, so checkup!

u might want to add a port number change.

since ISP like to slow down certain bittorrent ports.

if u do change the port number in Utorrent or Azureus ( VUZE beta )
u might want to run the following steps to get maximum potential out of ur internet connection.

IE;

Start-> run-> cmd

now command prompt is available

type: ipconfig, look at the standard gateway. also take your computers local address.

IE 10.0.0.138 -> go to internet explorer or firefox type in the number and it will take u to your modem settings

now look for NAT options.

if ur modem has this insert a new option that allows:

Local IP address + specified port number
outside IP address can be nothing + specified port number.

do this for TCP and UDP and save the given data.

this should give u a green light in azureus.

There should be a small hole somewhere on your router, stick something in there like a pen, and it should reset to factory default :? Dunno if all routers has a hole/button like that but mine does ^^. Read the manual if you can't find it :/

something like that.

it is a server you connect to to protect your identity/privacy.

A proxy can be used to do many things, but generally you could say it's used to anonymous access sites because it shows the proxies IP address and not your own. Some corporations use it to take some of the heavy network traffic of their own network and stabilize it with proxies. Some schools use proxies to filter out certain data (like malware) or web pages. You could say that a proxy is like a slave, you tell it to get something for you, it gets the stuff you want and gives it to you without your face being shown. But be aware! the slave might still remember your face and people could ask him stuff about you O_O

Make sure you open this in IE NOT FF

Open your router’s configuration web page. The URL for this varies across router vendors, so if the first one doesn’t work, try the others or look up this information in your router’s manual (if none of these work, feel free to post a comment and I will try to help as best I can).

* http://192.168.1.1
* http://192.168.0.1
* http://192.168.2.1

Enter your router’s username and password in the login screen as seen below. Again, the username and password varies by router, so either look this up in your router manual or try one of the options below:

* Usernames: admin, root, or leave blank
* Passwords: admin or leave blank

Image

then you should get a web page and fool around there should be a option were you can just reset the default setting
