Ok guys well recently my household broadband has effectively died.
It is a wireless network, and recently all three machines have had problems connecting to the internet, we cant get MSN, nor can we even access any webpage save for google. This is a problem suffered by all three machines, and I dont know whats going on.
no internet, network down

What I would try in priority order:
1. Resetting the router, test it.
2. Connecting to the router via 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 or whatever and make sure that everything is ok.
3. Google the router model and maybe with *wireless problem* keyword.
4. Connecting my computer directly to the router.
5. Flashing my router( install the latest firmware) BE CAREFULL, before you do this, verify the current firmware you have and download it. Also, get a firmware updater because if you only rely on the router to update the firmware and it fails, your toast. If you have a firmware updater, you can(directly from your desktop, you don't have to be on your router configuration page...(It will not connect anyway if you corrupt the firmware)) Also, read review about your firmware and the firmware you are about to install. Sometimes it cans become tricky.
Hope this help

Oh THANKS FOR WASTING OUR PRECIOUS TIME...
Kidding
Great it works fine now! I had the same issue except I was wired. I think sometimes ISP want to test their customer support so they cut-off the speed by 10
Anyway, I'm glad everything work for you now

If it's a malware... it's strange that you have it back without you having fix anything right?
Maybe verify on the router that all the comps connected are yours... because if someone dled pron on with your router at 800k/s it may affect a bit your connection

um, well, I have system restore turned off all the time because it's kinda useless anyway. have you done a new install or simply removed the trojans? if I would have an infection (well, kinda never happens) I would kill the whole system and do a complete new OS install...because you never know what damages the malware caused...
but well, you said it's fine again now, so it was most likely an ISP problem....if you want to you could even call your ISP support hotline and ask if they had a problem....
