internet losing connection

since i have installed linux after a while or in certain intervals my router seems to loose connection just momentarily. r there any specific settings for linux or shoud it be straight forward

it doesnt loose any packets normaly so was wondering if its a dos attack of somekind or a port problem.

any ideas on this subject welcome

hm, usually you don't need any special settings...just make sure the settings on the router and the NIC settings match (IP by DHCP or static IP for example)...if it's using DHCP now you could try to use a static IP instead...
