have you gone through your router settings?

in your browser type in 192.168.1.? depending on manufacturer the last digit or digits may vary

then most routers run a connection wizard. hope this helps :wink:

impossible to say without more info....is the router working and you just can't go online or can't you access the router at all (ping it)?

hm, most likely either wrong internet access data or the ISP or wrong interface setup. make sure the ISP data is correct, when it still not works post the output you get from the ifconfig command.

sorry, I'm sick at the moment so replies take a little longer than usual.
hm, seems the connection data is wrong, have you re-entered the ISP data?

OMG b_b you're sick?? God bless ya..
Get well real soon :)

@Macross
U only have fedora core 6 or is it dual boot.. if yes, can you access internet in windows?
Is your ISP a DHCP one or does it provide static ip(internal)??
When you ping any site what error do you get? cannot resolve hostname???

try

Code: Select all

ifconfig eth0

already feeling a little better... :)

well, the problem is that I don't know if eth0 is used at all in this case because it's an USB connection...should be sda1 then. best try to setup sda1 as network device first and if it don't work try eth0:

Code: Select all

route add default gw IP.of.your.router sda1
ifconfig sda1 up
or

Code: Select all

route add default gw IP.of.your.router eth0
ifconfig eth0 up

here what i get when i try to connect

root@localhost ~]# eciadsl-start
[EciAdsl 1/5] Setting up USB support...
Preliminary USB device filesystem is OK
[EciAdsl 2/5] Uploading firmware...
Process skipped .. no more needed
firmware loaded successfully
[EciAdsl 3/5] Synchronization...
OK eciadsl-synch: success
Synchronization successful
[EciAdsl 4/5] Connecting to provider...
using channel 14
Using interface ppp0
Connect: ppp0 <--> /dev/pts/1
Script /usr/local/bin/eciadsl-pppoeci -vpi 8 -vci 35 -vendor 0x0915 -product 0x8102 -mode LLC_RFC2364 finished (pid 31959), status = 0x0
Modem hangup
Connection terminated.

Tryed

Code: Select all

route add default gw IP.of.your.router eth0
ifconfig eth0 up
it says that connection is unreachable.

When i type eciadsl-testconnection command it says the same.

hmmm...everything seems to work fine until the actual connection to the ISP is made...are you REALLY sure the ISP connection data is correct? best enter it again, just to make sure.... :-k if you have a firewall best turn it completely off for a test.
