The best tutorial is this...

Download a webserver, host a forum with an old version and attack it with known bug. Then, get the same version then the one you want to deface and attack it. When you get access, you'll be able to get access of all forum with the version you tested.

Even if this method is 1hit kill, the admin can get your ip.
