[/quote]Change Ur IP Address in Less Than 30 Sec!!!
The following is a guide on how to change your IP in 30 seconds or less. This can be used if your IP has been banned from a game server, or on gunbound if your IP get's blocked. I've tried this on both Windows XP and Windows 2000, and it has worked:
1. Click on "Start" in the bottom left hand corner of screen
2. Click on "Run"
3. Type in "command" and hit ok
You should now be at an MSDOS prompt screen.
4. Type "ipconfig /release" just like that, and hit "enter"
5. Type "exit" and leave the prompt
6. Right-click on "Network Places" or "My Network Places" on your desktop.
7. Click on "properties"
You should now be on a screen with something titled "Local Area Connection", or something close to that, and, if you have a network hooked up, all of your other networks.
8. Right click on "Local Area Connection" and click "properties"
9. Double-click on the "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" from the list under the "General" tab
10. Click on "Use the following IP address" under the "General" tab
11. Create an IP address (It doesn't matter what it is. I just type 1 and 2 until i fill the area up).
12. Press "Tab" and it should automatically fill in the "Subnet Mask" section with default numbers.
13. Hit the "Ok" button here
14. Hit the "Ok" button again
You should now be back to the "Local Area Connection" screen.
15. Right-click back on "Local Area Connection" and go to properties again.
16. Go back to the "TCP/IP" settings
17. This time, select "Obtain an IP address automatically"
18. Hit "Ok"
19. Hit "Ok" again
20. You now have a new IP address
*Note* This only changes your dynamic IP address, not your ISP/IP address. If you plan on hacking a website with this trick be extremely careful, because if they try a little, they can trace it back.

in most cases people are using a router, and if you change your private IP the internet connection also drops because you'll lose the connection to the router. This only changes your dynamic IP address, not your ISP/IP address.
and if it's a dynamic IP it's assigned by the server and not by the client....so if you have a dynamic IP in a LAN and you change it the connection also drops....at least until the next DHCP offer is sent by the server.
and when the DHCP offer is sent your IP will still be assigned by the server and not by the client...so the change will be useless.
next problem: the IP/MAC pair is stored in the server's ARP cache, so once you change the IP the pair don't match anymore...connection drops, because in a connection that uses TCP/IP the last step a transmitted data package takes is always the resolution of the IP to the MAC address.
so the use is VERY limited, it only works for stateless connections....and only if a direct physical connection exists.

depends a little on the gateway config, but usually you are connecting to the router/gateway with your private IP (192.168.0.2 for example), right?
so if you change the IP the connection would drop until the gateway have sent a new DHCP offer and the new IP/MAC pair is set.
but if you're not using DHCP and limited the access to the gateway to static IPs (like I do for example) the connection would drop permanently until you have allowed the new IP in the router settings.

yep! if you change the private IP the connection to the router would drop...and if you would change your public IP (in case you're directly connected to the net) the connection would also drop because either the IP is not assigned by the ISP yet or it IS already assigned to another host.
ARP will most likely also cause connection problems....

No, this will not "change" your external IP.
Only your LAN IP.
The other steps after ipconfig is quite useless?
Easiest way to obtain a new IP adress from the router is just using the
repair feature. Which also clears the DNS and a lot more...
TO change the external the easiest way is simply unplug your router during the
night and then plug it in at the morning.

and this is not a spoof or proxy

I am fairly certain the size is controlled in the settings that B_B put into place.100 X 100 is the max allowed in here, I think. It isn't like a person can upload at 200X200.gogeta70 wrote:I think you broke the record for 'largest avatar on suck-o'
Um. Please look at the avatars of other users and adjust yours to the same size. Thank you.
I Adblock pictures that bother me in forums instead of bitching about it.
The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing.
Off-site images aren't controlled though, so the pic could be any size.MariaLara wrote: I am fairly certain the size is controlled in the settings that B_B put into place.100 X 100 is the max allowed in here, I think. It isn't like a person can upload at 200X200.

It's his job to make the forum as appealing and nice as possible.

well, it's a bug (or a missing feature) that offsite avatars are not checked for the size....the pic made the left table row bigger than the right one where the text is... so it was not just a minor annoyance (of course nobody blames gEEEk for it)...gogeta simply has seen it first, else I would have told him to resize it....
when I have some spare time I will check it out again and see if I can find a solution to resize offsite avatars automatically...
