i asked because i wanted to have some fun trying to gain access to their databases and if it was possible to get tickets as a staff member or some other sorts of airline staff and come up with more security and help them

well first i must find the flaws and show them, then hopefully they will pay me to fix them or pay me for discovering them

I was planning it at the time and still am i have not yet executed any hacks yet

regarding the security, even if they have zillion firewalls, still its hackable.
Another point which you didnt say was all data must be encrypted.

Firewalls dont make network secure, its configuration does.
Encryption can only prevent data from being stolen or mim attacks, in this case we need to make several legit requests, appearing from a legit computer on network, probably a VPN.

When we say hacking the airline database, it doesnt mean we start bruteforcing the network like lamers.

Every network has a week link, if it seems to be perfect think about other flaws, flaws in the system, protocol, etc.

Even if you manage to get them, you can get caught and your career will be ruined, or if you're lucky you'll get away with it.

You're a mod here, so we dont need to tell you what's right and wrong,
you know what's good for you.

also aeronautical engineers can travel by air for free, but you are just 15 so wont look like one even if you make a fake i-card or whatever.

I think that due to the terrorist threat and possible cyber threats from them the airline industry has gone into paranoid secruity measures. Airlines have always been the favourite target of terrorists so I think that they have a hell of a security. Stuff that not you or me can even imagain.

If you could access thier computers you could bring down planes. On the other hand if you hacked into government you could do what? All the top secret stuff is not in thier databases but people with high security clearance have it on them selves all the time. That is what I think!
