kk so i got my new laptop today (finally)...but ....i am still not happy -.-
Inserted Debian net install, and it tells me that it can't find a network card and that i shall specify it myself....after a long and hard search after the damn name of the card, i find it in the BIOS....but it's not in the Debian driver list.
I had to install Vista to make sure that the card was working, and yes. It was working.
There are drivers for the network card on the CD that i got....but i don't know how to actually use them during the install >_<
i tried to load it on a USB stick and make it look for it but it only looks for floppy...i also tried to place the drivers on the disc but i don't know where to place them.
i am seriously going crazy over here....does anyone have an idea?

what lappy model is it? ethernet or wlan card?
pcmcia can be a pain in the rear, what Debian version do you want to install, Etch? if yes try Lenny, it's more up to date and if you're a little lucky the drivers are included there already:

never seen a lappy with a PCI card..... there is mini-PCI, but that's rare and usually only used for wlan cards....so it's most likely PCMCIA...
Lenny is using more up to date package versions than Etch, and so there are also newer drivers included...don't worry about the "testing" state of Lenny, I use it on my home server and had only once a little bug which was fixed a few days later, so Lenny is still very stable....
