I guess you simply have to pick the speaker setup in the audio settings...
because I don't know the english terms (using german version) I made a screenshot:

hmmm.. is the source material 5.1? I am not sure if the sound card can upsample stereo to 5.1....so if the source is stereo only 2 speakers will work, it also depends on the player you are using (not all are 5.1 ready).

found an artist's site where you can download 5.1 tracks so you can test it:

When I was trying to install the sound card,i realized that the inside of my CPU is really dusty,so i cleaned it out. When time to reboot my CPU would come on for like 3 sec and then the power light will blink continuously, and i won't boot..i checked all the connections but everthing seem to b in place,so i carried it to repair and the dude charge be $350 TT...could anyone tell me what happen to my CPU so i could take things in my own hands next time this happens.I think some connection was slack but i didn't no which one it was.

$350 bucks cuda got me a 512Mb ram

Btw,my sound card is working now,it was a driver problem.

I can only speculate and thus I conclude that perhaps it was ESD damage that caused you’re computer problem.

If you do not know what ESD damage is I will explain briefly. ESD is every where and done everyday, it is an electro-static discharge.

When you shock some one on a dry day and hear the pop it is in the order of 40,000 Volts. This can cause digital hardware problems. So you say “well I never seen or heard it “Pop”. Even if you do not see or hear the pop there is still ESD discharge maybe 1,000 Volts or 20,000 Volts. This too will damage digital components. Keep in mind that most digital parts like running around 1.5 – 5 volts.

To be safe ground you’re self always and often. If you cleaned out the PC with a cloth or something that created ESD discharging then this might have cause the failure.

yep! I always use a good old paint brush and a vacuum cleaner.....and for the parts that are hard to clean that way (like the CPU cooler) compressed air is still the best...

Typically a technician will replace know good parts with yours to isolate the bad part.Or remove all the parts except CPU and Ram to see if the computer will post. If a bad post is still present then it can be isolated to CPU or Ram that need replaced. IF yes a good post, then other parts are put in one at a time until a bad post is achieved; Thus discovering the bad part.
