Nice little memory of mine...

Post by Gogeta70 »

I thought this was interesting... The first website i had ever made... back in 2001, is still up and running well. I wrote this website when i was 12 years old... The only thing is the main page redirects to some IP for some reason, but just stop it before hand.

Check it out, it's a preserved memory for me :P

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ It works on my machine...

wohoo, my first one is also still up:
http://de.geocities.com/hirn_lego/

embarrassing when I look at it now, but it's also a nice feeling to know I can do much better now...I did the site about 4 or maybe 5 years ago, all I knew was basic HTML...:)

screen name changes

Post by DNR »

I probably have little webportals scattered all over, fortunecity, geocities, and many no-name accounts. The webportals were a project of seeding the internet with a webserver that would allow me to download tools and upload results, it did not have a password, but you'd have to be friendly enough with me to know the proper url.. I thought most portals would be deleted since I haven't updated them, tripod.com has a policy of deleting websites with no activity in 6 months.

but:

How about screen names and idenities? New identities were the result of my growing up and how my personality changed.

I used to be crimeLab, c0vertl, covert_one, and ...

pfff well my first site is still in use to promote a vacation home we own,

my second site was ( I think ) http://www.geocities.com/generalsofdeath

ofcourse this was in my early gaming period when I started my own clan, but so many people called us cheaters because we where THAT damn good.

as for screen names, it depends on what expertise we are talking about.

N3rd is there for the hacking and webdevelopment, plus graphics.

and my game name is Xai.

Holy crap, Bad_Brain, I haven't heard that song in forever. Kind of crappy quality, but I still don't know who it is. All I recognize is "Sweet dreams are made of these...".

Godsmack?

as for first website it used to be freewebs.com/poppoob but not anymore i guess its gone

my name actually my first was dog7chris but then one day i used PopPooB and ALWAYS used it on EVERYTHING

PopPooB was a mixture of Pop Bob and boob that AOL generated and i picked
one of the results at random and liked it

poppoo is apparently Finnish for gang, group of people, etc...

and so PopPooB in Finnish is Group B or Gang B

infact one day i searched my name and a finnish summer camp came up of there groups and PopPooB was Group B xD

sometimes if poppoob cant be used its real_poppoob or cstryker and only used once was chryker
96% better then all connections global

The first group to sing it was called the eurythmics (sp?)

Oh, and i think one of the most meaningful aliases i've ever seen was \alive.
I saw it while i was an active member of HTS, and it stands for "escape alive".

I remember making a couple of those sites on Geocities. I am sure they are long gone by now. I do not even remember there URL's any more. Yeah, I remember building a small website back in 2000 or 2001 and another one prior to that which had satanic stuff on it. I am not into that any more!

I have come up with my handle way back in 2000 if not prior to that. I played around with letters that I liked and came up with this one. :)
We will either find a way, or make one.

wow i remember my first time.....making a site

it was like a shitty site called bluedungeon.110mb.com
its not online anymore
but it was just bad.
at that time i had no skills in photoshop or html
but somehow made a pretty decend looking thing
it was like plain white with some samurai dude in the middle
and like 5 buttons leading to more shitty pages
one of which was the funny pic page....i remember that
omfg it had like insanely funny pictures on a yellow bg.
i also had a phpbb forum hosted on one of those phpbb free hosting forum sites...you know what i mean.
and that was it....
i had just about like 6 people in the forum. but hey it was something

its long long long long lost.
but hey its a good memory of how i got hooked on web dev

@B_B....i dig the fire on the bottom. totally stole that gif. ^_^

as for all of us it still implies.
Its not important what you did in the beginning
but its important what you accomplished at the end.
