vista has screwed up my computer

i recently installed vista
it modded my windows xp folder to windows.old
but wont let me mod my boot.ini
ive changed it from read-only
i cannot boot of linux cds-could not acccess
/bin/sh or sumfin
tried reinstalling windows xp
but after copying system files,then loading them it ses restarting computer
i cannot boot from my hard drive
it ses
ntdlr is compressed or press ctrl+alt+del to restart
sumthing like that

ntldr is compressed?

are you sure it don't says "ntldr is missing"?

if it's "ntldr missing":
- first make sure the boot device is BIOS is set to the C-drive
if yes:
- boot from the XP CD
- on the first opportunity pick "R" to enter the recovery console
once in there:
- fixmbr c: <RETURN>
- fixboot c: <RETURN>
- copy d:\i386\ntldr c:\ <RETURN>
- copy d:\i386\ntdetect.com c:\ <RETURN>
(d: is the device name of the CD/DVD drive, change it to the name of yours if needed)
- exit <RETURN>

i re-installed xp pro but cant recover things like{my documents}
cus it was a private folder
any ideas on how to get my stuff back

8O Dam people how many times do I say it and it never sinks in or get through to anyone VISTA SUCKS ASSS!!!!!!! look on tv there are evan comercials makeing fun of it now why the hell wont people leave it the hell alone and stay with xp or linux jeez guess everyone like hard lessions!!! just format and start over is the best bet!! and if the data is evan recorable then a boot disk like winternals or bart pe or just slap the hard disk in another pc and copy the data off then format that screwed to hell disk but first FDISK /MBR then regular FDISK it then format it only then will it be truly ready and cured of shitsta!!! you dont throw more TP in the toilet when its pluged with crap you plung and flush it out thats what your doing by adding more on top of vista just flush it and it will be all better good Luck

i was alredy gunna reinstall xp cus it was in bad condition

i happened to have found a copy free(was chucked out,with good reason>i c)

but i kept my old xp but it fucked around with it
i dunno why it did though

Dont have a clue what all that means or equals but any way sorry I do come off harsh because I hate Vista because Vista all=CRAPPY SHIT
all old windows 2k up =Awsome I hate new shit new is not better new cars new anything I drive a 2003 and thats evan to new I like old and crusty to new and its a pile of worthless shit my opinion yes but also my experiance and what I have run into wit 12 years of service on both cars electronics and pcs the newer they get the worse they getmuch past the 2g mark is all overdoing it and just to confuse people and sorry those who are super smart but thats who the new pcs are for so whats the use normal users and most old school tecs without toons of relearning cannot use or work on new tecnology so screw the shit!!!!!And last little word thats why allot of updates now crash you machines all made for vista new macines etc!!!
