So in order to make your graphical interface work in linux slackware u have to type this command "xorgconfig" and than pick some options.
Anyway, here is my question.
I have a dell inspiron 6000. I looked up the specks and it said that my video card is Radeon x300 PCI. So when i get to the part where you have to pick the video card model from a database of video cards, i have to pick Inteli810(generic) instead of ATI Radeon(generic). Any ideas why?
PS: the only way i found out was some forum post.

just to make sure it IS a Radeon card check the output of:
if it really is a Radeon then you have to install the Radeon driver from the ATI site, I guess the inbuilt ATI driver is a very basic open source one which only supports older g-cards correctly....afaik Slackware has the same philosophy as Debian and doesn't include proprietary software which is not open source (like most drivers), and the drivers provided by the developers/community can never be really up to date...
