Server Hack

Hey....my school is being really big assholes, so i wnat to really piss them off without them knowing it was me who did something....... i want to plant something in the server that will slow it down and/or cause many problems...... it is a fairly secure network, but has many flaws...BTW i dont want to destroy anything and would like it to be reversable....any thoughts?

remonte
1) get as much info about target as possible(open ports + software version + etc)
2) get info about software security holes
3) get and use DoS exploit

or
local
1) boot from cd
2a) format patition's / delete files from hdd
2c) get administration passwords and hf.

um, well, even if you don´t break something it would be a cause to kick you off the school, so if I were you I would keep away from it.
I don´t know how skilled the server admin is, but there are such nice tools like Tripwire and Snort which log every possible malicious activity on the server, besides the normal logs.
information gathering like scanning is not illegal, but it would be better if you do this from a safe location, because scanning can be labeled as a preparation for an attack so you could get into big trouble too...

ok well to be swing to the dark side check into Denial of Service or DoS, also DDos (distributed Denial of Service), be careful though if you decide to do this, it is illegal, and i recommend you dont do this from your home or a friends house (perhaps a library or cyber cafe')

Definitely from a public terminal and preferably one where they don't keep a record. The library in town keeps records of who was at which terminal and at what time.

um, DDoS is done by a massive ammount of trojan infected zombie computers which are under your control..

be very careful man, DDoS attacks are no joke, people already went to jail for this...better think about it again...

Ahh and DDoS is hard to organize. And most important thing then DDoS attack is stoped server offen works fine again. So no fun attacking to small servers with less than 10 users at same time.

at any given time, there are 120 people on the servers (i go to boarding school) all the phones/security cameras/internet/email/grades are on the different servers (there are like 5 different ones) they are doing a security update because some stupid kid tried to kill the firewall.....
