well, Fedora is definitely a mainstream distro, not "pure" enough for some hardcore Linux freaks....but I still look back at my Linux beginnings sometimes, the distro that brought the fun into Linux for me was Red Hat 9...and Red Hat turned into Fedora later (Red Hat is only into enterprise systems now)...
