Looking for a piece of software to fill a job
so I got my new laptop and did a bit of driving, while out I ran into a number of wireless networks of diffrent strengths, but the driver was not in an area to part so I was without much luck as I lost my signal as soon as I got an IP address because we moved out of range, I am looking for a program to automaticly scan and pick up the strongest open network and connect to it every x minutes or whatever so that as long as there are wireless networks in the area you can get more or less seamless service despite traveling in and out of range. Any ideas?

Hey...
Hm, haven´t heard of such a program for wardrivers. WLAN roaming applications exist, but only for commercial nets like in airports, and this applications just simply switch between the nearest available AP of the same ISP.
One tip: Wardrivers are lowriders...
After a while you´ll know where the nice spots are and where you have to stop, I don´t know from which country you are, but if you´re from the US maybe your area is already mapped:

If you´re from ouside the US check if a wardriving site for your country exist or check here: http://www.wigle.net/
