Ubuntu sound

ok, so ive got an hp pavillion dv6500t laptop. i put hardy heron on it and everything worked great. then randomly my sound stopped working? i went to sound under preferences and hit the little test button. this is what i got in return:

audiotestsrc wave=sine freq=512 ! audioconvert ! audioresample ! gconfaudiosink profile=chat: Failed to connect stream: Invalid argument

what would i have to do to go about fixing that?

i fixed it. lol all i had to do was click some buttons and then hit close. restart. and boom. i now have sound. lol,
