Ive checked my host files, i am using FF and Im not able to access certain sites. There seems to be no logic or pattern with the inaccessible sites...some are educational and some are commercial...as I said...no real paatern as far as I can see.
There is no error....the page just refuses to load....takes forever, and freezes. These are not media intensive sites, with a million animations or SFX.....so I am totally stumped.
some sites have 50% or so progress....others barely 1% although the same basic result remains: bugger all!

hm, can have different reasons...
first ping the site you want to load, just to make sure the problem is on your side..
is your Java version up to date? (check by entering "java -version" in command line, my version is 1.6.0_06 for example, the last 1.5 version I used caused high system loads and freezes for me). if it's an older version than mine get the newest one:
http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp
if you're no Java developer get "Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 7", don't forget to remove the old version first.
if this don't fix the problem try it with an alternative browser like K-Meleon:
http://kmeleon.sourceforge.net/
if it works with it re-install FF, if it's the same problem with K-Meleon let us know...
