if u use a ATI card, use their display program same goes for Nvidia, they both have seperate programs that can help you optimize the display colors etc there should be a screen resolution option in there somewhere.

perhaps when you want to ask for help, you should try to be more detailed,

like
Did that happen suddenly, or you formatted the system?
which graphic card do you have?
have you installed the latest drivers, which version?
was it working fine before?
did you installed something new or did some changes recently(like registry editing) that might have caused it?

we're not psychic

My guess would be a driver problem also, if the correct video driver is not installed one time on my PC it would not even give me the option for higher resolutions

Look at the back of your computer and see where the monitor cable goes. If it goes to a PCI card, see what it says on the card. If it goes to the motherboard, look for integrated video chips on the motherboard. Trust me, there's a name somewhere.

hey hey

its finally fixed....i should i followed a combination of ways......those combinatios of suggestion provided by the memebers gave me the key to how to fix it......it wasnt necesariy the graphic cards problem it was rather the o/s........it had disabled any kind of view that is not suitable for a program meaining a application's suitable screen view was 860X460.....therfore the windows had set it automatically on that resolution only for that stupid applicatoin.......

anywys thanx.....

I got a lifetime subscription to driveragent.com and it has paid for it self 10x allready. When people pay me to fix their PC 99% of the time they do not have the dirver discs, that website scans the PC and tells you what drivers need to be installed and supplys the download link along with mirrors and a link to the products website

EDIT:: ok i see you got it fixed allready n/m, eaither way the site is good though for future reference

Prolly a dead topic, but BIOS issues are usually to blame for this as well ^_^
