Rustock "breaking News" spam bot

Post by DNR »

"Rustock has been increasing its spamming capacity over the last couple of months and is now responsible for just over 30 percent of all spam that we receive. "

"The websites are hosting a page that is similar to previous Rustock web pages. This page is shown below, the media player is really just an image. A popup box created with JavaScript claims that you will need a new version of 'Video ActiveX Object' to play the video. Shortly after loading, the browser will ask to download the file video98.exe. Running this file will install the Rustock spam bot."

yeaaah....I got a load of those in the last couple of weeks, all with hilarious topics like "Britney Spears claims to be pregnant from aliens"....
the amount of this kind of spam shows that many people are STILL stupid enough to click on every idiotic link.... #-o time for something like a "driving license" for computer users...
