thunderbird 1.5 master password

anyone an idea how to erase/reset the master password in Thunderbird 1.5?
I had a little "accident" and lost the actual one, but now I need to install a CA certificate so I can digitally sign my emails again (lost the old certificate because of a system crash).
I googled already for it and found a HOWTO on the Mozilla site which tells "what to do when lost the password"...but those dumbasses forgot to mention that you need to enter the old password to reset it...duh...

also I can´t find the key3.db-file which is supposed to include the pass...

for rainbow tables I would need the hashed pw...

but well, found the key3.db-file, damn XP search function skipped it, so I had to search it manually...erased it and could establish a new password then...
