Post your Desktop: Reloaded
Sure, this is pretty generic post as per usual - but there is a twist this time.
I want you to post your desktop, but also include a utility that makes you every day tasks easier - I feel this would be a good way to expose other people to time saving utilities that they once did not know about.
I will start; here is my desktop including my newest favorite application called Terminator which emulates the CLI (command line interface) on X Windows system and allows you to open multiple window panes within one window - if you have lots of screen retail, you can get quite a lot done that would normally require you to switch between windows which takes time - I am really excited, waiting for the next release with more improvements. Check it out here: http://www.tenshu.net/terminator/
Now, surprise me! [/img]

I was thinking to open a "Desktop showoff" thread, but you beat me to it
Well here it goes:
I use Desktop Sidebar. Plugins: Leak Detector ; Processor Usage ; "Rad računala" Computer work (shows CPU DISK MEM SWP (have no idea what this is) usage and NET)
; IP Address (one tab: shows external and internal IPs, other tab: Network Adapters, NA IP address, Physical address, Host name, Description, Subnet, DNS servers, DNS domain, Default gateway, third tab: Pings) ; DSCalculator ; Gmail mail notifier.
And in the lower right corner is the NetMeter. I have a limit of 4GB upload & download per month so I have to monitor all the net traffic, and this is the best app for me.
And that's pretty much it. Hope you like it

Well, the guy at the comp. service installed xp black while he was reinstalling Windows on my comp because of some nasty virus (which I though was quite cool) because I didn't knew how to reinstall Window.
Hmm come to think about it I still don't know how to do that.
BRB
Ok, now I know.
Where was I? Oh, there. Well I used to run Windows XP before I picked up the virus, but I don't see any major differences

I try to keep a neat desktop, as you get deeper into the folders the messier it gets. I also run process explorer - you might as well have it start up with the OS. The idea of having a gauge to monitor your OS, especially Windows, is to quickly determine if there is an anomaly occurring or just the OS/app hiccuping. Process Explorer is a great way to get to know your computer. I have the Comodo firewall indicate traffic in and out bound.
I also have a Kremlin Secure Delete 'recycle bin' - it doesn't recycle, it wipes the file space.
The screen will be based on the mood, writing for suck-o, surfing, or the wife.
