New vista laptop ( can it be changed )

hello all,
today my father and i went to a Dell Store and ordered a Dell XPS m1330 Vista Genuine
I asked the guy if i could downgrade, he told me :
If you downgrade to XP, some hardware features might not work such as the webcam

Is that true? Can I downgrade and would such problems be solved?

There is no way that we can tell you if you do not give us the exact hardware specs of the webcam. I am sure there is a driver for XP as well.

it's a notebook with integrated webcam lyec...

and yes, it is possible some hardware components will not work out of the box, but I found reports of people that use XP without any problems on that notebook....BUT you will need to install almost all drivers, before that the notebook will be almost unusable.
