Ok, i did the boot and nuke and reinstalled Debian with the bare minimums the regular way, no server stuff, no LVM or LVM encryption, and still get that same message. I think it may have something to do with a hardware setting or hardware. Because when I had XP installed some files on the desktop when i tried to copy them for backup to my external USB drive the machine would just reboot..
Edit:: I can login via single user mode command prompt, but the gui way is giving me the error.. would it give me that error because i used the same PW for root and the main user?
