GTA 4 min specs...

Post by Swan »

Hi guys. I have been thinking about getting GTA 4, but not sure if it will run on my compy.

I checked my computers abilities at can you run it? With the following feedback:

Minimum: Intel Core 2 Duo 1.8GHz, AMD Athlon X2 64 2.4GHz
You Have: 2 processors running - Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.40GHz

CPU Speed
Minimum: 1.8 GHz
You Have: 3.39 GHz

System RAM
Minimum: 1 GB for Windows XP / 1.5 GB for Windows Vista)
You Have: 1023 MB

Operating System
Minimum: Windows Vista - Service Pack 1 / XP - Service Pack 3
You Have: Microsoft Windows XP Professional (Build Service Pack 22600)

Video Card
Minimum: 256MB NVIDIA 7900+ / 256MB ATI X1900+
You Have: NVIDIA GeForce 6200SE TurboCache(TM) (GeForce 6200SE TurboCache(TM))

Video Card Features - Minimum attributes of your Video Card

Video RAM: Required - 256 MB , You have - 256 MB
Video Card 3D Acceleration: Required - Yes , You have - Yes
Video HW Transform & Lighting: Required - Yes , You have - Yes
Vertex Shader Ver.: Required - 3.0 , You have - 3.0
Pixel Shader Ver.: Required - 3.0 , You have - 3.0

On the whole....my system "fails" (narrowly) to meet the requirements of the GTA 4 game. However, I did a check of Fallout 3 and the site says that my compy is not good enough to run it. This is suprising, given that Fallout 3 works PERFECTLY.....

Can anyone please advise me, as to whether GTA 4 will run, not run, run slow, etc? Thanks :)

hm, hard to tell....it SHOULD work, of course only with low settings and resource hogs like anti-aliasing, dynamic lights, etc. disabled.
I haven't played the game, so I don't know if there is maybe a min. requirements check that makes it impossible to install.... :-k

but well, before wasting money for a game you can't install feel free to use the "special login data" you got from me...

It needs at least Windows XP SP3 (or higher, like Vista) to run
