This post (sticky plz) is meant to give an example of what overclocking can be achieved. Check my old tut cuz i've revised it a bit, but since i've improved A LOT since those times...just read.

Ok so what are photos worth if I can't show some results:
(all the Clocks and settings are on the page)
PCMark 05:
Q9450 World Record @ http://www.hwbot.org/result.do?resultId=790353
P4 640 HT 4th Place World Ranking @ http://www.hwbot.org/result.do?resultId=790353
3dMark06:
17073 Marks with Q9450 and HD4870 @ http://www.hwbot.org/result.do?resultId=756042
20095 Marks with Q9450 and 2x HD3870 @ http://www.hwbot.org/result.do?resultId=756300
12149 Marks with Q9450 and 1x HD3870 @ http://www.hwbot.org/listResults.do?use ... ationId=12
6542 Marks with Ldragon (friend) Asus X1950 13th place world@ http://www.hwbot.org/result.do?resultId=790439
wPrime 32M:
Q9450 = 9.880 secs @ http://www.hwbot.org/result.do?resultId=756108
14 place world (pretty good considering i was doing air cooling)
CPU-Z (max clock)
P4 HT 640 achieved 4639Mhz (windows boot) validation: http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=411027
Q9450: 4060Mhz validation 14th place onyl with air cooling: http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=433619
So from these links and ss you can pretty much have a sense of what speeds you should be able to achieve.
As a note i will tell you that currently, my Quad9450 is running @ 3600Mhz @ 1.39v. RAM is at 1500Mhz 4GB total(i have 1600 ones, but havent OC'd them yet) and mt GFX is at 790/1100 Mhz (core/ram) I have 2x 500GB WD RAID0 with system and stuff and a backup Samsung 1TB drive on a external HDD HUb with eSata
I am using this setup 24/7 and it has been like this for about 1 year. Hardware doesnt seem to complain, and anyways Intel has release Nehalem and X58 chipset
BTW how do I rank in the Hot Or Not Computer thread

2012 update:
RIP Asus P5E3 Premium
Earlier this year my mobo finaly decided it was time to go to transistor heaven. Dem Feels
Am now running an Asus P67 Sabertooth and an i5 2500k with 16GB of 1600Mhz DDR3 Ram
So you know, OC does actually kill your stuff eventually (doesn't help that I melted the 24pin connector due to excess current )
