google filter plugin for Firefox

Post by bad_brain »

I guess we all have been annoyed already by the crappy spam results on google...I found a nice filter plugin that removes most of those "best price"-results and the other pointless stuff.
the site that developed the plugin is in german only, so I uploaded the plugins for FF 2.0.x and 3.x:
Get it here.

2.1.0 is for FF 2.0.x
21 is for FF 3.x

the configuration is in english, you can chose between displaying the spam results in red color or to block them completely...I have tested it a little and it works fine for me.... :)

p.s. to install the plugins simply rightclick the file and open it with FF.

nope, Mozilla wouldn't touch this plugin with a 10 ft. pole...
not because it is bad or something, it is because it really works....the developers of the plugin have been sued repeatedly already...by spammers that are unhappy because their entries are filtered...

this is the official site, but as mentioned it's german only:
http://www.filtertechnics.de/gf2/

and here you can get the plugin directly from their server, it's also available for IE and Opera:
ftp://ftp.filtertechnics.de/pub/filtert ... glefilter/
notice the version info I posted above, the latest FF version for example only works with FF 3.x...

hm, it SHOULD work on Iceweasel, because actually it's the same a FF...only the name has been changed because of copyright issues.

if you can't get it from the suck-o downloads you are either using https (simply use http then) or your browser is not sending referal data (check the config then). but you can still get it from the developer's server...
