This would be really cool. I remember my hardware teacher saying something about if something happened (i forgot maybe it was fast processor like in the article) the heat would make the silicon melt off the circuit board. He handed out photocopied article from Wired that said there was contemplation about replacing the silicon with diamond. I believe that the article said that that alone would allow data to travel 100 to 1000 times faster. There was also mention about carbon-nanotubes replacing the transistors on current CPUs.

Nah but we are MILES away from that reaching the enduser, and whith global warming and stuff, if it consumes like 1000Watts enviromentalists will say its bad for the ev.
Its nice to know someone is actually trying to improve the technology, instead of launching new systems (Yes INTEL I don't like the timing of the I7)

And I assume that this 1THZ CPU would use considerably less power than what the CPUs of today would use to match the speed.. So it's all win/win if you ask me![/url]
