system show off thread

Post by bad_brain »

the first thing I did when the attack was under control last night was to attach the new CPU cooler that was standing around for 3 days already...

so now my system is finally complete and I thought let's start a new "show your system" thread... :)

Very nice setup Pong! :-k

I assume you properly setup your computer's HDD to keep the OS on one disk and all your extraneous files on the other HDD. This would help keep maintence of the system simple - if there is a problem with the OS (crash, infection) it is isolated to that HDD. Develop a policy to only limit contact between the two HDD, ex. Only take files from that drive, and put it on the OS hdd before opening it. The HDD can have strict r/w/d/m/c so files cannot be overwritten with a infected file.

Make sure you have a good surge protector - and you know they are only good for so many years right? The best surge protector is one that has its own battery backup - the power is filtered through the battery to keep the power flowing at a consistent level.

Get those pictures up.

thanks for advice dnr!

i am now uploading the photos but they are in low image quality coz i was not able to borrow the 12.1 megapixel camera that my friend bought. he says that his cam is very special and is restricted only for his use(greedy bastard!). so i just used the cam from my old phone. its not even .5 megapixel(damn!).

i'll post it later.

as for the hdd i have the OS and programs that i use and the games in my 80GB. and i have all the installers and backups in the 160GB. i am also thinking of getting 1 of those 500gb harddisk coz my hdd is almost full due all my anime, application and game installers.

You have a bad ass desktop picture.

I don't have a system to show off yet. Eventually I will be getting one. When I do I'll post it.

Yeah, that's a 7750, cool you figured it out already,
I used to call "Gaming-rig" as "Maverick", untill i upgraded it and turned it into a dedicated gaming machine,

I wanted to go for nvidia GTX 280, but i got benchmark tests and the performance increase in that was not worth the steep price, 9800gt will be good for another year i guess, and after an year probablyi can buy a GTX 285.

However b_b's got a radeon 4870 i think, which is really mean, with GDDR5, omg, put two of those together, and you get best graphics processing power on earth, now there are 4870s X2 with dual core, which is the best card in market.

but with my setup, currently i can play all games on full settings at 1680x1050 so its all good.

I am a love flight and car sims, i have gaming hardware for that too, i got logitech joystick and racing wheel, i guess that adds to my hardware.

Anyway next week i am buying a better gaming keyboard and mouse
probably this
http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/keybo ... 8&cl=US,EN
and a razer gaming mouse

Though i also wanna invest in a good headphones.

Apart from overclocking, that board supports upcoming phenom 2 series processors on AM3 sockets, and yeah upto 16GB ram :)

Though new core i7s are and ddr3 ram are making me envious, but they are still so expensive, so its not exactly value for money.
