Just admit that you IP-banned yourself on accident ;-)

C you later.

well, I was too naughty and had to ban myself....

this will make you guys laugh, but I locked myself out of my own server once by flushing the firewall rules, I forgot to change the INPUT policy to ACCEPT first....this was the most embarrassing mail I have ever sent to the support.... at least I remembered the policies are set to default when you restart the server, so I was able to do it on the customer´s i-face of my server provider before anyone opened my mail...

I have had the similar not so long ago.

A guy named Bad_Brain suggested me to use this and that software and
it brought me to the idea of going deeper into my firewall.
A) I noticed i had none installed .....
B) We had to reboot the computer for one reason or another and I remember spending an hour in front of the screen thinking why I had a running interface, at least one cart had an IP-address allocated but no applications were able to connect to Internet, not a single one.
Then it came in a flash :

"Aha, toggle firewall off, reboot, toggle firewall back on.."

I have other embarassing stories. The most st00pid one, yes folks, it happend to me : the powerchord incident ! Yeehay.
You can guess that one.
