I have to say, shoutbox is damn interactive....but the downside of it at suck-o's side is the subject of the site XD.

its indeed an invite for hackers to abuse it and do some injections ;)

if this was a normal site with no relations to hacking it would have been a more viable option me thinks.

**small feature request**

People tend to get the wrong impression if they see the word "hacking" in the window title in your web browser. I suggest an alternative "safe" title. It would be useful when visiting suck-o at school and teachers look at our screens (to make sure we're not playing games lol).

What !!?? 8O......[-X

This is a place to learn about hacking and it should be written in the title, also you can scare the teachers with it :P

No seriously,it's not a good idea to remove the "key-word" from the title...And people who get a "wrong impression" when they see the word hacking aren't supposed to be here anyway....

I agree with 3x... hacking as a term is not even related to computers / security...
the term hacking in most descent dictionaries come as follows(link)

verb:
hack 1 (hk)
v. hacked, hack·ing, hacks
v.tr.
1. To cut or chop with repeated and irregular blows: hacked down the saplings.
2. To break up the surface of (soil).
3.
a. Informal To alter (a computer program): hacked her text editor to read HTML.
b. To gain access to (a computer file or network) illegally or without authorization: hacked the firm's personnel database.
4. Slang To cut or mutilate as if by hacking: hacked millions off the budget.
5. Slang To cope with successfully; manage: couldn't hack a second job.
v.intr.
1. To chop or cut something by hacking.
2. Informal
a. To write or refine computer programs skillfully.
b. To use one's skill in computer programming to gain illegal or unauthorized access to a file or network: hacked into the company's intranet.
3. To cough roughly or harshly.
n.
1. A rough, irregular cut made by hacking.
2. A tool, such as a hoe, used for hacking.
3. A blow made by hacking.
4. A rough, dry cough.

noun:
hack 2 (hk)
n.
1. A horse used for riding or driving; a hackney.
2. A worn-out horse for hire; a jade.
3.
a. One who undertakes unpleasant or distasteful tasks for money or reward; a hireling.
b. A writer hired to produce routine or commercial writing.
4. A carriage or hackney for hire.
5. Informal
a. A taxicab.
b. See hackie.
v. hacked, hack·ing, hacks
v.tr.
1. To let out (a horse) for hire.
2. To make banal or hackneyed with indiscriminate use.
v.intr.
1. To drive a taxicab for a living.
2. To work for hire as a writer.
3. To ride on horseback at an ordinary pace.
adj.
1. By, characteristic of, or designating routine or commercial writing: hack prose.
2. Hackneyed; banal.

so as you can see, the term hack is not a bad word by its self, it actually has many meaning, and as for computer hackers, its well known, u have the three hats, white gray and black...
if any one ask you lindus what are you doing on this site (suck-o=hacking) explain to them what hacking is really about

I think you guys have misunderstood Lundis. He's talking about the window title as in <title>suck-o.com hacking - ...</title>. And I think it could be changed into something like <title>suck-o.com - Mind over Matter</title>. This doesn't mean banning the word hacking from the site, but only a change in the title.

Besides, don't you think that people would rather jump to conclusions and call Lundis a cyber-criminal than studying the word "hacking" and understand it's true meaning?

lundis I think you should read about these topics:
- Hacker's Manifesto
- Hacker's Glider
- How To Become A Hacker

-edit-
btw, I don't mean to put down ur idea lundis
I just thought rather changing ur self for people, instead let people know the truth about you...
any way, if you are really bothered from the term, then yeah, i think change will be for the best of this community :D
any way, hope things will be comfortable for every one :)

Yes I know he didn't mean to ban the word "hacking"... but yea you're right if the title is "Suck-o :: Mind Over Matter" it would be better, not because of the people's prejudgment but because it simply look better like this

I didn't say change, I said having a safe option you could turn on when at school etc.

lol seems like everyone except for ph0 completely misunderstood me. I and any other suck-o member are not having problems with it, but if the computer "admin" at school saw it I would get in trouble, he doesn't know much about computers and computer culture other than ms word

I like ph0's idea

I know what you mean, and as you can see I already changed the welcome text on the front page a while ago (from "hacking apps" to "open source software with a hacky touch"). the page title will also be edited on v2...

here is one idea:

Just remove the welcome - use the space for news, or another module.
People that will visit will gloss over the welcome anyways to get to the content.

If you remove the welcome mat maybe less newbies will find us?

I liked the welcome block before, but I guess for suck-o v2.0 maybe we should ditch it.
