Back Track

Post by Kirk »

I have recently discovered Back Track 3 and am wondering if lyou guys could clue me in on how to use it properly. I think I get the gist of it. I've been googling it and seen a few videos, but would still like to hear from you all.

You really should try 4 beta once you get a little bit used to bt3.. Everything just feels smoother. It's a little bit different from bt3. Also nice link DNR. I never noticed the doc pages before.. Granted I never spend much time on the site beyond hitting download on the latest release. XD

just wanted to add that manuals for most apps are already built-in Linux (at least on all distros I've seen).
to check the manual for nmap for example simply enter:

Code: Select all

man nmap

The backtrack distro is a fun one to learn. And i would add not to worry about installing it to your HDD. The live CD works great to start learning. Follow DNR and BB suggestions with the live CD and you'll be at a good starting point :D
