hey guys
Im trying sth out on my local network but now Im kinda stuck and I could use some help. I've installed vnc on both boxes and offcourse I also know the login-password. When I log in, I just see the desktop from my other computer. Now I would like to do some things without prompting a window on -screen. I would like to be completely hidden without the other user can see what Im doing. For example I want to open cmd.exe and do some stuff without seeing any extra window on this remote box...
Is this a possibility or am I talking shite?
I know how to hide the cursor but this is sth else I need to figure out
run hidden windows in remote desktop
remote desktop
What os are the machines using? Win XP and maybe some others will not allow two users to control the same machine at the same time.
Remote desktop tools I have seen, even in novell always have some indication when they take over control, pop-ups, windows opening/closing, window freezes, and the old hourglass symbols telling the puter user to wait...
Stealth tools hide in the background, gathering information - they are stealth because they don't do anything else. Trying to run programs, give commandlines, or otherwise _interrupt_ the computer user is going to get noticed. The first thing I would notice is the computer acting buggy, freezing, and running a harddrive when it shouldn't be, firewalls alarm over program access to the net even.
This is not to say that a app can't be installed to prevent interruptions - it can break down processing time to two different task - in a way not to slow down the computer or make it's 'freeze' notice able. You can have it upload grepped nfo while the user is typing something, or reading a webpage.
Good job on your first vnc.

not too sure about all that jazz, but i know its relitivly easy to write a perl script and run in in the background. thats how i can hide stuff on my school computer. the only security they have is a window viewer, so they can see what im looking at, but if it doesnt show up, they cant tell. its the best way i know of
