Suck-o V 2.0 opening date moved!!

We have been working a lot on Suck-o Version 2.0, to make it to the opening date. But we feel that rushing it might compromise the security of the site, we need some more time to test the security of the new site more, and make sure it's safe (because taking down Suck-o is unheard of).

Thus, the opening of Suck-o V 2.0 has been moved to "2010/01/01". This will also make it possible for bad_brain to release some interesting statistics about the site over 2009, but more about that later.

To give you all a status update, I can say that the new site is coming along fine, and most of the promised features will make it in time. We are working on filling it with content now.

The threat is simply that since we are moving to a new CMS with a lot of new settings and modules, we need to be familiar with how everything works, as well as look for vulnerabilities. This requires some testing.

And since all of us have jobs and school to take care of as well, it is taking more time then it normally would.

and yes don't tell me about school and work :S:S after the holiday 9 hours will be add to my schedule in my university + ma working on week :S pretty shitty
it won't get better until i get my degree because without that peace of paper we can't get a good job

again looking forward for the new suck-o and hope we get some more details about vulnerability in those web application, AFTER you guys fix it and no longer cause a threat to the site

I wouldn't say its a threat, but its more of a want for perfection. Several of your staff here have worked on the suck-o 2v for over a year now, they just want it to be just right!

01012010 - thats how the date looks from the US POV (how we write the date down) - strange and maybe appropriate for suck-o....

Oh - all the assholes that pissed us off in suck-o v1 - will not be invited to suck-o v2. They will be left here to rot next to the bodies of all the skiddies we have killed over the years. You know who you are.

Sorry if the date format confused anyone ...

But that's the date format we use in Sweden, and it's the international format according to the ISO 8601 standard

EDIT:

To clarify, the only thing that has changed is the date. Everyone can still login to the new site as usual, when it is opened on January 1st 2010.

As Bad_Brain said the date has been delayed again. This is because of an issue that we have encountered with the new site that might take some time to resolve.

We are working on it and are hoping that we wont have to delay the opening of the new site any further.

ok, we found the reason of the problem, so the delay will not too long.

but prepare that you maybe will have to login twice when visiting the new site the first time: to the main site and to the boards. but this will really only be on the first visit, the reason is the hash algorithm the new boards are using for the user passwords, it is a different one compared to the one on those boards here.

but we will see if we can find a way to avoid the first double login to convert your password hash....if not it will be just a onetime minor annoyance I think.
