Post by JohnB »

I burnt some files to dvd not too long ago. But now when I try to access the some of the folders show as empty and the names are all messed up. Is there any way to recover the data?

http://www.isobuster.com/ - payware
http://www.supershareware.com/disk-sector-view-free/ -shareware - multiple choices

The point is you want to try to copy or extract the data from the CD,
You then run a SCANDISK on the data when its on the HDD, or a comparable data recovery/repair tool.

Try copying the files in C:\ prompt, rather than letting windows try and read or run it.
