DNR, then you love to hear that I will move suck-o to a MS server soon...
oook....j/k....
well, I have never used Vista, so I have no idea how much better Win7 is, but for me it's simply a good gaming platform (DX10 and even DX11).
for my everyday work I still use XP and, of course, my Debian home server.
using Win7 has 2 nice advantages for me: better graphics when gaming and I can spit the fun stuff (on Win7) from the serious stuff (on XP)...so I can simply format the gaming partition without having to spend lots of time with creating backups of my important data before and restoring the backups after the install.
P.S. speaking of MS licenses, I have heard that the amount of people that can login to the remote administration of a MS server at the same time is also limited by a license (I think it's 3 as standard)...so when your development team has 4 people you will have to upgrade the license...
